Louise Hunter Eaton, 90

Louise Hunter Eaton, age 90, of Louisville, KY, was born on June 4, 1933 in Knox County KY and passed from this life on March 26, 2024. She graduated from Lone Jack High School as Valedictorian of the class of 1951. Louise moved to Louisville where she met the love of her life, C. Wendell Eaton. They were married for 62 years.

Louise worked for ATT Long Distance Telephone Co. for seven years. She retired from Kroger Co. in 1993 after 25 years.

Louise was a member of Beechmont Baptist Church and the Bethany Sunday School Class. She was a long time member of the Beechmont Woman’s Club where she served as President in 2004-2006, served as Governor of the GFWC / Kentucky Third District in 2010-2012, member of the Past President’s Leadership Council, and member of the Iroquois Neighborhood Association.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wendell Eaton and her parents John Hunter and Myrtle Walker Hunter; siblings, her twin brother, Andrew Hunter, Charles (Maxine) Hunter, Jack (Betty) Hunter, Thurman (Dorothy) Hunter, Helen (Glen) Pearman and Betty Jane Mills.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Douglas Warren Eaton (Mary Gail) and Terry L. Smith (Mark Smith); four grandchildren, Mary Melissa Eaton (Roger Hill), Emily Elizabeth Projceski (Darko), Abigail Louise Smith and Nolan Sledge Smith; two great-grandsons, Alex and Luca Projceski; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Louise will be held at 1 pm on Saturday April 6, 2024 in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 11 am to the service time at 1 on Saturday. Memorial gifts may be made to the Beechmont Women’s Club, 4516 So. 6th St. Lou., KY 40214, or the charity of your choice.
