Meatball Texas Toast

April 08, 2024

I promise I’m not a lazy cook. There is nothing that brings me more joy that making a homemade meal from start to finish. But like many of you, I am often on the go. During the week I am always looking for an easy way to get a meal on the table. This week, I found an extremely east recipe that is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Pair it with a side salad and you’ll have a filling meal in a matter of 20 minutes.

Meatball Texas Toast

Ingredients: 1 package of frozen meatballs, 1 jar of marinara sauce, 1 pack of provolone cheese, 1 box of frozen Texas toast garlic bread, Italian seasoning.

Instructions: Preheat the oven to the package directions of the Texas toast garlic bread. Brown the frozen meatballs in a skillet over medium high heat for 2-3 minutes. Add the marinara sauce to the saucepan with the meatballs, lower heat to medium low and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Cook the toast per package instructions. Removed toast from oven. Take the back of a spoon and flatten the inside of the bread of each piece of toast creating a “Bread bowl.” Add 3-4 meat balls with sauce to each bread bowl. Lay a piece of provolone cheese over top of the meatballs. Broil on high for 2-3 minutes until the cheese browns. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and serve!
